About the Ride

Each year some of the Honorary and Emeritus members and most of the Active members of the CAA go on an annual trail ride together.

Ranches throughout the United States extend invitations to the organization, inviting them to come to their ranches as guests, where they usually camp in tents and tepees, and sit around a campfire in the evenings.

During their stay they visit, paint, have business meetings, sign the “tip sheets” that are used for the Limited Edition of the annual catalog; and they often play practical jokes on one another (some participate in this activity more than others!).

They are entertained by Herb Mignery, Bill Nebeker, Red Steagall, and Don Hedgpeth, as well as visiting entertainers from time to time. It is during this annual trek that the members build and cement their relationships with each other and as a group; and at the same time, they recharge their creative batteries while sleeping under the stars, roping and riding together.

Most members feel as if this annual event is very possibly the most important event they will participate in throughout the year, believing that this is a huge part of their continued success as a group.

Having fun is an important part of their relationships, and they have a LOT of FUN on their annual trail ride!
